What should i ask the owner about this car if i am going to buy it?

I am looking at a 2000 Audi A6, 2.8L V6, non-turbo Automatic, 180k miles, well maintained. What should i ask the current owner before I buy this car?

Seriously, ask him for every service record since he’s owned the car. If he has none don’t buy the car. It may look pretty but without regularly scheduled maintenance it really could be a dog. If he’s had regular maintenance at a new car dealer they will have copies of every visit. *You must find out if the car has had any nagging issues such as warranty work. The Audi dealer can fill you in on this. *Stay away from it if it’s had a ton of warranty work.

You’re buying a gasoline powered car with a lot of miles. He’s driven it 20,000 miles per year. That’s 8,000 miles above average. Quick clocking of miles are good if the car has had perfect service records such as oil changes, brakes & rotors, transmission fluid every 60,000 miles and cooling system flush drain and clean every three years.

Car Fax reports tell a lot of he’s the original owner and has lived in your state since he purchased the car. If he purchased the car used and it originally came form another state Car Fax reports aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Certain out of state disclosure laws do not require reporting if the car has been in an accident, flooded or burned.
